Legally Blonde

Legally Blonde

20 June – 23 June

The award winning Young Venture Players are thrilled to bring Legally Blonde The Musical to the Dolman stage. It’s the story of college sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods, who doesn’t take no for an answer. Although she seems to have it all, her life is turned upside-down when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle puts down her credit card, hits the books and uses her charm to get into the prestigious school where she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, Elle quickly realises her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world whilst tackling stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Equally hilarious and heartwarming, Legally Blonde The Musical will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with its fabulous heroine (and of course, her chihuahua, Bruiser) as she proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat ( A Youth Production)

26 September – 29 September

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family. Packed with many catchy tunes this wonderful musical is suitable for the whole family.
